The Ashes – the much-anticipated Test match rivalry between Australia and England will be renewed between 22nd November and 14th January 2021/22. It’s Australia’s turn to host the series which gives them the upper hand amongst odd makers this year.
IPL (Indian Premier League) – the fourteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), is set to be played between April and May 2021 in either India or the United Arab Emirates. The Mumbai Indians are the two-time defending champions, having won both the 2019 and the 2020 seasons.

Main Cricket betting markets
In this section, we’ll review the most popular Cricket betting markets available.
Match betting
Betting on the winner of a cricket match is a popular option for multi-bets and the underdog.
Top Run-scorer by team
This bet type will provide odds for the most runs scored by a batsman on each team. In test matches, the 1st innings is the main market. This bet type would be recommended for any Cricket match with great conditions for batting. Generally, the top four batsman are the best choices.
Top Wicket-taker by team
You can also bet on the top wicket-taker per innings. The best betting advice for this bet type is to stick with the opening bowlers if the pitch is suitable for fast bowlers. Otherwise, a spinner is also a good choice if they’re in form and the pitch is known for spinners taking lots of wickets (Eg. India). In Test Cricket, spinners are more recommended in the second innings when the pitch is deteriorating.
Man of the Match
Betting on the man of the match can provide value odds, however, this is a tougher bet to achieve. Especially in a five-day test match. It would be more recommended for betting on Twenty20 and One Day Cricket.
Cricket betting strategies
Form – The number one Cricket betting strategy is looking at the form of a player or team. If a player or team has performed well in recent cricket matches, they’re a good chance of repeating in the next match.
Match type – The difference between a Test match, One Day match and a Twenty20 match should also be taken into consideration. Players are more suited to a format and they’ll perform better. For example, a test cricket batsman that doesn’t attack will struggle in Twenty20. Also, some teams are historically better in different forms of Cricket match types. The best example is the fact the Australian cricket team has failed to win the Twenty20 World Cup but they dominate the One Day Cricket World Cup.
Coin Toss – Generally speaking, the team that wins the coin toss will have better odds of winning a Cricket match. Batting first on a hard pitch or bowling first in cloudy conditions are the main advantages of winning the toss.
Weather – Weather is another betting factor for a cricket match. In One Day Cricket, the team batting second is more favoured when a match is shortened due to rain. This is because they can plan their innings based on the target set from the Duckworth-Lewis Method. In Test Cricket, a chance of rain will significantly increase the odds of a drawn result.
Venue – The venue for a Cricket match is an important factor as this will show any form patterns. If a team has a bad venue record, they’re likely to struggle. In terms of players, most cricket players have better records at their home venue. A good example would be David Warner from Australia. He has a fantastic batting record in Australia but he has failed in the sub-continent during his career.
Home Field Advantage – Along the same lines as the venue, is home-field advantage. Teams will generally perform better at home as they’re players are more suited to the conditions. For example, India struggle on Australian tours as their players are more suited to the sub-continent pitch conditions. Whereas, Australian pitchers are more bouncy and give bowlers more advantage.
Injuries – A cricket team consists of just 11 players per team. If a team is missing key players due to injury, the other team has more chances of winning.
