William Hill Welcome Bonus: 4/5
The William Hill welcome bonus is currently a $200 sign up bonus for new customers. The bonus bet is awarded when a qualifying bet is placed on a sports or racing market. The qualifying bet is the first resulted bet and the bet amount will determine the bonus bet value. For example, a $100 resulted first bet will receive a $100 bonus bet. The welcome bonus is capped at $200 and comes with important terms to consider. Firstly, the welcome bonus is only for Australian residents in ACT, QLD, NT and Tasmania. In addition, the bonus bet expires after 7 days and must be turned over at $1.50 or more odds.
Betting markets: 5/5
In this section, we’ll review the William Hill betting markets for sports and racing.
For sports betting, William Hill has a range of markets for all popular sports. These include: Australian Rules Football, Rugby League, Cricket, Tennis and more. The future markets for sports is well covered and they allow betting on markets well in-advance of the event occurring. An example would be the Cricket World Cup can be bet on 2 years in advance. They also cover less popular sports, such as: Volleyball, Japanese Baseball and Cycling. In terms of customisable betting markets, William Hill launched “BuildABet” in 2017. The BuildABet feature William Hill allows customers to request a bet via a contact form. When accepted, the market will be available on the website for others to bet on.
William Hill covers Horse Racing, Greyhounds and Harness Racing, both in Australia and Internationally. They have two main price boost options, PricePump and DoubleDown. PricePump gives William Hill customers the choice of increasing the odds for a certain racing event. It’s only available once per day but the odds increase is significant. While the DoubleDown feature is available for selected horse racing events and allows for doubling a bet during the race. It’s available during the first-half of the race and will incur a small fee for using this feature. If you’re horse is looking good, choose DoubleDown and double your bet.
In our William Hill review, we looked at their odds in comparison with Sportsbet and Ladbrokes. Overall, the odds are fairly similar, however William Hill don’t have the best odds for the underdog. They’ll provide similar odds for the favourite in the sports betting markets we reviewed. For some sports, such as Major League Baseball and AFL, William Hill can be slow to update their markets and miss matches. But this is for early betting markets. For racing odds, William Hill is also very similar to Sportsbet and Ladbrokes. On average, William Hill will provide a little less odds for the mid-prices options but the same odds for the favourite.
Mobile App: 4/5
William Hill has an impressive sports betting app available for mobile devices. The app can be downloaded on an iPhone, iPad and Android devices. For the best betting experience, make sure your operating system is updated. The app has simple navigation and creates an easy betting experience. The bet slip is quick and simple, especially with the Quickbet feature. The Quickbet option skips the betslip process and allows for a pre-defined bet stake to be selected. This comes in handy when a race is about to jump or you’re placing a string of different bets. The new promotions feature at William Hill can be selected on the mobile app. As well as earning rewards, lottery and customer support.
Live betting & streaming options: 5/5
William Hill has a wide range of live betting / streaming opportunities for sports and racing. Due to Australian government regulations, live betting is only available via a phone call. But William Hill have all popular sports covered and provide live betting markets while watching the live stream. The live streaming service is available for both sports and racing. Some of the sports that are live streamed, include: Baseball, Basketball and Tennis. In terms of racing, the live stream is available for major race meetings in Victoria and New South Wales. They also have a cashout feature which comes in handy.

Overall rating: 4.5/5
William Hill is an excellent choice for betting online in Australia for both sports and racing. They have advanced betting markets, live streaming for popular sports, customisable bets / promotions, wide range of payment options and much more to keep you engaged. In terms of disadvantages – we couldn’t find many but they could improve the pending bets design on the desktop website and better odds for the underdog would be great. In our William Hill review, we’re giving them a 4.5 out of 5.
